With 'Silo' smashing records and becoming a massive hit, it feels like Apple TV+ is consistently dropping higher-quality science fiction than other streaming platforms. It is easy to see why people feel this way, as Apple TV Plus has really carved out a niche for high-concept, polished science fiction with shows like Silo, Severance, and Foundation. While Netflix certainly has a larger volume of content, they often prioritize quantity and rapid binge-ability, whereas Apple seems to be playing a longer game by focusing on prestige storytelling and high production values. That said, I think calling it a win depends entirely on what you value more as a viewer. If you prefer consistent, deep-dive narratives that prioritize world-building and intellectual themes, Apple is undoubtedly your current home base. However, if you enjoy the sheer variety of genre-bending experiments that Netflix offers, they still hold their own despite the occasional hit-or-miss quality.

That is a great breakdown of the strategy differences between the two platforms. I definitely agree that Apple is winning on the prestige front, but I often find myself wondering if their slow-burn approach will eventually alienate viewers who want a quicker payoff. Do you think Apple can maintain this level of high-concept quality as they inevitably look to grow their library and expand their audience reach? It will be interesting to see if they eventually pivot toward more experimental content like Netflix as they get bigger.
