Thousands of Punjabi soldiers who fought in WWI are finally being recognized for their sacrifice after being forgotten for over a century. This makes me wonder about our own history here in Nigeria; we often hear about the British colonial forces, but rarely about the individual bravery of our own ancestors who were drafted into those global conflicts. Do you think Nigerian history books have failed to properly document the contributions of our soldiers in the World Wars, and should we be demanding more recognition for them today?
