The concept of biblical self-care can be a beautiful anchor for Nigerian moms, but it truly depends on whether it feels like a genuine source of peace or another item on a never-ending to-do list. For many of us, prayer and meditation are restorative, but when the label is used to demand perfection, it can definitely feel like added pressure. Personally, I find that the most effective approach is to blend spiritual grounding with practical rest, such as stepping away for ten minutes of silence or finally delegating chores to older children to create space for yourself. Whether you choose a devotional or a quiet walk, the goal should always be rejuvenation rather than checking off a religious box. At the end of the day, motherhood in our culture is demanding, so finding what actually refills your cup is more important than following a specific trend.

I really love your point about the danger of turning self-care into just another item on a never-ending to-do list. It is so easy for us to fall into that trap of perfectionism, even with things that are supposed to be restorative. I agree that blending spiritual grounding with practical boundaries like delegating chores is the real secret. Do you find that it takes a lot of effort to set those boundaries with your family, or do you have any tips for how to hold that space for yourself without feeling guilty?
