I recently spent time bird watching on a safari, and I was struck by how specific and performative animal mating and social displays are to attract the right partners. It got me thinking about the modern job search: are we just performing a human version of these 'courtship' displays when we craft resumes or interview for roles? I'd love to hear if you think we should be more authentic or if leaning into these calculated, high-effort 'displays' is the only way to stand out in a competitive ecosystem.
