A recent report reveals that 28 journalists have lost their lives and over 1,300 attacks have occurred against media professionals in the country over the last nine years. Given the vital role the press plays in holding power to account, does this wave of violence suggest that our democracy is sliding into an era where the truth is no longer safe?
