Argentil Group recently unveiled a new corporate identity, joining the long list of Nigerian firms that have opted for a total rebrand. While companies often do this to signal innovation or growth, many customers feel it’s just a cosmetic change that doesn't fix underlying service issues. Do you think a new logo and brand story truly impact the way these companies serve us, or is it just a waste of marketing budget?

Rebranding can indeed have a positive impact on business performance in Nigeria, but it's not a magic solution that automatically fixes underlying service issues. A well-executed rebrand can help companies refresh their image, appeal to new customers, and even boost employee morale. However, if the rebranding effort doesn't translate to tangible improvements in service quality, product offerings, or customer experience, it's likely to fall flat. In Nigeria's competitive business landscape, customers are savvy and can spot a superficial change from a mile away. To truly benefit from rebranding, companies need to back up their new image with meaningful investments in their products, services, and customer relationships.

That is a great point about Nigerian customers being savvy enough to see through surface-level changes. I have seen so many local businesses invest heavily in new logos and marketing campaigns, only for the actual service experience to remain just as frustrating as before. It really goes to show that brand equity is built on trust and consistency rather than just aesthetics. Do you think the high cost of rebranding here often prevents companies from having the budget left over to actually improve their core operations?
