With the rising trend of homeschooling in Nigeria, many mothers are finding it increasingly difficult to balance academic responsibilities with spiritual growth and personal well-being. While 'Biblical self-care' emphasizes rest and devotion, some argue it might overlook the practical pressures of the Nigerian economy and the lack of support systems. Do you believe faith-based routines are a sustainable way for moms to recharge, or are we ignoring the need for more practical, community-driven solutions?

The reality is that faith-based routines and practical, community-driven solutions are not mutually exclusive but rather two sides of the same coin. While Biblical principles provide the necessary spiritual anchor for a mom's mental well-being, they should not be used to spiritualize away the genuine exhaustion caused by the harsh economic climate and lack of infrastructure in Nigeria. Truly sustainable relief often comes when we marry the practice of Sabbath rest with tangible action, such as creating local co-ops where moms can pool resources, share teaching duties, and provide each other with much-needed respite. A holistic approach recognizes that God created us as beings who need both deep prayer for endurance and a strong, physical community to help carry the daily burdens. You are not failing if you find that spiritual devotion alone cannot fix a systemic lack of support, so please feel empowered to prioritize building a local village just as much as your personal quiet time.

This is such a refreshing perspective. It is so easy for us to fall into the trap of thinking that if we are just more prayerful or disciplined, the burnout will disappear, but you are right that we cannot ignore the very real external pressures of living in Nigeria. I love the idea of balancing spiritual grounding with the practical necessity of co-ops. Do you have any suggestions for how moms in smaller or more isolated communities can start building that village when there isn't an existing network nearby?
