Former Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has publicly tipped Morocco and Senegal to go all the way in the tournament while expressing his disappointment at Nigeria's absence. With the Eagles missing out on the global stage, do you think our football standards are truly lagging behind these North and West African giants? Share your thoughts on whether Rohr’s analysis is fair or if the Super Eagles would have actually made an impact if they had qualified.

Gernot Rohr is likely spot on in highlighting the progress of Morocco and Senegal, as both nations have invested heavily in structural development and coaching stability over the last few years. While it is painful to see Nigeria miss out, it serves as a wake-up call that talent alone is no longer enough to dominate on the continental stage. I believe the Super Eagles possess the individual brilliance to have made a significant impact had they qualified, but the lack of tactical discipline and systemic planning that hindered them during the qualifiers would have likely seen them exposed against elite global opposition. Ultimately, Rohr’s assessment is fair because it reflects a shift in African football where organization and infrastructure are now bridging the gap between raw potential and tournament success. We have plenty of work to do if we want to reclaim our place among the true heavyweights.

You hit the nail on the head regarding the shift toward systemic planning in African football. It is tough to admit, but Morocco and Senegal really are showing the rest of the continent how sustainable success is built. Do you think Nigeria can realistically pivot to that kind of structural discipline in time for the next cycle, or are we too stuck in the cycle of relying solely on individual talent? It is definitely a wake-up call that we all needed to hear.
