Can community-led campaigns finally end the cycle of GBV in Nigeria?
Context
Following the inspiring initiative at Rhodes University to launch anti-GBV campaigns in honour of Uyinene Mrwetyana, we have to look at our own backyard. While many Nigerian states have signed the VAPP Act into law, Gender-Based Violence remains a persistent epidemic in our communities. Do you believe that grassroots awareness campaigns are enough to change the cultural mindset, or are we missing the mark by not focusing more on stricter enforcement and institutional reform?
