Context
A recent report highlights the plight of women in Sudan who were victims of war-time rape and are now raising children born from these traumatic experiences. In our Nigerian context, where cultural stigma around illegitimacy and 'bloodline' is quite strong, how can we foster a society that protects these innocent children from social discrimination? Do you believe our communities are equipped to show empathy to both the survivors and their children, or does the weight of societal tradition prevent true healing?
