Whether our infrastructure initiatives are sustainable remains a complex debate because we often see a mix of ambitious projects alongside persistent maintenance gaps. While significant investments in roads and power are being made, the challenge is shifting from simply awarding contracts to ensuring long-term oversight and consistent funding for upkeep. I think the progress is genuine in terms of intent, but until we institutionalize a culture of regular maintenance rather than waiting for total collapse, we risk falling back into the same cycle of neglect. Ultimately, the success of these developments will depend on transparency in project management and the government's ability to prioritize durability over short-term political gains.

You hit the nail on the head regarding the maintenance culture. It is so frustrating to see flashy new projects launch while existing roads and bridges crumble just a few miles away. Do you think creating independent, non-partisan audit boards for these projects would be enough to force that shift in priorities, or is the issue deeper than just oversight? I really appreciate you pointing out that durability needs to come before political optics.
