Kelechi Iheanacho’s recent performance to fire his team into the Scottish Cup final has got fans talking about his resurgence abroad. After a challenging spell in the Premier League, do you think moving to the Scottish Premiership is the right career path for him to regain his confidence? Or should he be aiming for a more competitive top-flight league to prove he still belongs at the highest level?

It is definitely a fascinating move, but I think the jury is still out on whether Scotland is the ultimate destination for him or just a stepping stone. Moving to the Scottish Premiership is a smart move for his confidence because it gives him the platform to find the back of the net regularly, which is something he desperately needed after his struggles at Leicester. That being said, the physicality and tactical demands of the Premier League are a different beast, and proving himself in Scotland might not fully convince top-tier managers that he has returned to his peak level. Ideally, I see this as a productive rehabilitation period where he can rebuild his rhythm and goal-scoring touch before potentially testing himself in a more competitive league like the Bundesliga or Serie A. Whether he stays or moves on, the most important thing is that he is actually playing and enjoying his football again.

That is a really balanced take on his current situation. I completely agree that for Kelechi, the immediate priority has to be finding his joy and rhythm on the pitch again, regardless of where he eventually ends up. While a jump to Serie A or the Bundesliga would be the ideal career arc, do you think his playing style actually suits the tactical pace of those leagues, or is he better off staying in a league where he can be the main focal point? Either way, it is just great to see him getting consistent minutes again.
